A Much Needed Family Vacation

After my catastrophic getaway to Branson, I was still craving an actual vacation. My husband had talked to me about how much he missed his family and well, I found some really cheap tickets and thought it was the perfect opportunity to travel.

I hardly packed any clothes, makeup or even a hair brush. But thanks to that, I had the chance to visit several shopping malls during the trip. : )

Our first stop was Las Vegas. It was my first time there and I was excited. We got there at 6 p.m., which was the perfect time because by then all the lights were on. We rented a car and off we went. Walking down the strip is definitely an experience. You see so many people from all over the world, crazy outfits and hear music playing everywhere.

We did go to the casinos. After leaving the casinos we realized what a horrible idea it was. We went in with hopes and dreams to come out rich and pay off our debt. We left heart broken and empty handed. ha! Don’t worry, I only spent about $150 the two nights we were there.

If you happen to go to Vegas anytime soon, I recommend you go eat at Chayo’s. It was amazing! I ordered some veggie fagitas and my hubby ordered a torta, but he swears it was the best $16 torta he’s eaten. Although it was expensive, it was worth it. Better than the $30 we spent at Subway for two sandwiches and a soda the next day. What a rip off.

Our next adventure was California. Our family is all over. His dad and brother live in the Bay Area and his mother lives in the Los Angeles area, along with a whole bunch of my own aunts and uncles. Our drive only took about 3 and a half hours with traffic.

Seeing my family was very refreshing. I missed them so much. I saw a lot of nieces and nephews I’ve never met before. Can’t imagine how crazy fun it would be if we all got together for a family reunion. Maybe we could plan something soon!
