A Day in Chicago

We got up really early and decided to go to the Willis Tower. By 9:00 AM we were already checking out of our hotel. We asked them if they could please take us to the train station. Luckily they did. Phew! I did not feel like walking. I could foresee a lot of walking in my future.

After our 30 minute train ride, we were in the city again. It was raining. I really need to invest in an umbrella. It always seems like such an unnecessary purchase until I get caught in the rain. So we ran. Keep in mind that we were carrying our whole luggage in our backs! We managed.

We finally made it to Willis Tower. I think that was my first time. I don’t recall going when I lived there.

Anyways, it was a lot of fun.We paid $19.50 per person. It took about half an hour to get to the top. Not because the building is so tall, the elevator ride took less than three minutes, but because there was a huge line!

Once we got to the top it was super crowded. We were seriously walking one person behind the other.

We of course wanted to take a picture of us standing on the skydeck but we were in another line again for over 20 minutes! All because everyone wanted to take pictures of every single angle of their body. Ok, I do have to admit we did the same thing, but still!!

When we got out of there, we walked a bit longer and then it was time to head to the airport.

We took the train again. Pretty good deal. We paid $16 for both of us for a weekend pass.
We go to the airport at exactly two hours before. Everything went smoothly.

Now it was time to sit and relax and watch as many movies possible in the next eight hours! Or we could sleep. It’s impossible. I’m way too excited! Next up, London!
